| Description: |
Ancient Egyptians attached great importance to the preservation of the heart. During the mummification process, the heart was left in the body and the heart scarab was placed over it. These types of scarabs are frequently found inscribed with spell XXXB from the Book of the Dead. This particular scarab is uninscribed, the base flattened with a striated wing case.
