Description: A semi-precious translucent amethyst pierced scarab, lilac in color, the anatomy of the scarab incised, flat underside.
Provenance: Private California Collection.

Condition: A chip on the back/underside as shown on images.

Keywords: Scarab: In the form of a beetle, these amulets were very popular throughout Egypt’s history. The scarab beetle was associated with the life-giving and ever-present sun because of its activities. They were carved from faience, gems, stone and semi-precious stones.
