Description: A double-sided bronze figural cross pendant, engraved on one side with Saint Peter, holding grapes on either hand, inscribed above ‘PETROS’, the other side engraved with a figure of Theodora, holding grapes on either hand, inscribed above ‘TEODOROS’, both figures with arms outstretched, wearing long draped garments. A circular swivel suspension loop above.
Provenance: American Art Market.

Condition: Intact, Swivel rejoined with modern pin, otherwise a well preserved and fine example.

Keywords: Cross: Reliquary crosses were worn by pilgrims or religious devotees, and comprise of two hinged parts which contained relics of Saints and Martyrs, splinters of the true Cross and other religious relics.
